We all have stories to tell, issues that have a significant impact on our lives, conflicts that need to be examined. Too often these remain withheld, unarticulated. With devised theatre we make a direct connection between theatre and our lives, using the medium of drama to creatively explore and articulate what’s important to us. Instead of depending on a pre-existing script, the actors create their own theatre through a structured dramatic process based on the pedagogy of the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA) and Jacques Lecoq.
Devised theatre places the actor-creator at the centre of the play. The workshop pieces are turned into collaborative performances. Anitha Santhanam conducts devised theatre workshop for actors and non-actors as well as school and college students.
